This project involved taking elements from a commercial track to create a remix of it for a new market. I remixed Sia – Elastic Heart, a pop track which is relatively well known, having charted pretty high and created an Acid House/Acid Techno style track using only the vocal elements from the original.

This project demonstrates my skills as a remixer, taking a track and manipulating elements from the original to produce a new piece of material suitable for a new market, in this case for Dance Music clubs and DJ sets. By producing a remix of a well known track like this, and introducing it to an underground scene required an understanding of the House and Techno scene to ensure that the mix is appropriate for this market, there is so much potential for error when producing music for such a passionate subculture.
